Salisbury is in a historic region with superb surrounding countryside and much of interest. Salisbury is a medieval city with a world famous cathedral built between 1220 and 1258 which has the tallest spire in Britain. Pre historic Stonehenge, the world heritage site, is nearby. Fishing is plentiful and most sports are available. The New Forest and the south coast are very near. Salisbury is well situated, with easy access to London, the West, and the South West.

Salisbury has a lively theatre and strong musical society and regular concerts. There is an annual arts festival with attractions from all over the world. There is a District hospital with Regional Spinal, Plastics and Burns and Rehabilitation Units as well as an excellent postgraduate medical centre. Nearby is the University of Southampton. | |
